This article will explain the definition of rich text, how it can be enabled and where it can be applied.
What is 'rich text'?
Rich text refers to a type of text formatting and it allows you to apply styles such as bold, underline, italic, strikethrough and hyperlink.
How will it work in my database?
Once this feature is enabled, you will have the ability to add this type of formatting into the 'Description/Commentary' field under the General tab of an artwork record by highlighting the text and selecting the style you desire from the toolbar.
You can find an example of all the styles available applied to the text below:
The text will appear formatted accordingly in any documents and reports that include this field.
Warning: If you wish to revert the feature back to plain text, html tags will be added to text that was formatted when the rich text formatting tool was on, and line breaks will be removed from the description field. This will not affect how the text appears in the Private View app or the Private View links.
