Depending on whether you want to change your artist's cover images in your automatically created Private Views or your manual ones, there are different ways to do this. Follow the steps in this guide to learn how.
Automatic Private Views
Steps
To change an artist's main thumbnail image, you can do this in your database:
- First, find the artwork record that you would like to feature as the artist's cover image.
- Click the 'pencil edit' icon.
- Click 'PrivateViews'. You might need to select 'Other' to see this option.
- Select the option 'Use this work as the cover image in the automatic Private View of this artist' as seen below.
Manual Private Views
Manual Private Views are those made in your database through Artworks > Private Views > All.
Manual Private View thumbnails are chosen by the system from the selection of artworks within the collection. It selects the artwork that has most recently had the option ticked to 'Use this work as the cover image in the automatic Private View of this artist'. If no artwork has this option ticked, it will be chosen at random.
Steps
In a similar way to the above steps, if you would like to alter a thumbnail in this collection:
- Find the artwork record within the Manually created Private View that you would like to feature as the Private View's cover image.
- Click the 'pencil edit' icon.
- Click 'Share'.
- Select the option 'Use this work as the cover image in the automatic Private View of this artist' as seen below.
What's not currently possible
It is not yet possible to edit the thumbnails that appear in the main Collections menu of Private Views in your app. These are chosen at random by the system.
