Add a new user
- Go to your website CMS > Admin > Users > New record.
- Turn on Enabled on website.
- Add their username (email address), which they will need to log in, and their new password.
- Choose their Permissions. If you do not wish for them to be an Administrator and thereby have full access to your CMS, you are able to select from these permissions:
- Add/edit pages using the Page Browser
- Administer users
- Add/edit blog entries (if available)
- Edit records
- Edit files
- Edit store (transactions, shipping, etc)
- View main CMS dashboard (reveals website status, settings, recently added records)
- Edit website settings & styles
- Edit website styles
- Access the gallery database
- Receive e-mail alerts when comments are posted (if available)
- Export and download data in spreadsheet format
- View log of emails sent through the website
- Add/edit protected paths
- SEO Administrator
- Add a Short biography if you wish.
- Click Save.
Review your users' activity
- Go to your website CMS > Admin > Users.
- On the users' dashboard, you can see their activity in the last login column.
Removing a user from your CMS
Disable a user account
This is the best way to prevent a user from logging in. In order to keep your logs intact, we do not recommend deleting old users.
- Go to your website CMS > Admin > Users > New record.
- Click the pencil edit icon in your chosen record.
- Turn off their Enabled on website.
Our security tips
We are constantly refining and enhancing our security processes within the organisation and adding security logging and processes to our systems. It is also important to manage your website in a secure way.
- Use a strong and unique password. We recommend using a password generator and manager such as LastPass or 1Password.
- Change your passwords periodically. See this guide, if you forget your password.
- We also encourage clients to consider who needs access to their website and ensure that everyone that needs access is reviewed periodically too.
