Feature panels can now be used to customise your exhibitions and artists pages.
How to enable feature panels for your exhibitions or artists pages
Feature panels need to be added to your artists and exhibitions pages by our developers. Once these have been set up, you will be able to enable them for each page from your side.
Steps
- Go to your website CMS and navigate to Records > Exhibitions > All exhibitions or to Records > Artists to find the record you would like to enable feature panels for.
- Select the record, and click on the pencil edit icon to open the edit screen. You can also use the 'new record' button at the bottom of the page to create a new record.
- Scroll to the 'Page content' section and turn on 'Enable feature panels'. This will display the feature panel options.
- Click Save.
Types of feature panels available
Your exhibitions and artists pages can be built using dynamic panels or standard feature panels.
- Dynamic panels are a list of original modules that automatically populate with content added to your record. They act as standard sections that can be re-named and re-arranged independently.
- Standard feature panels are content modules that you can edit directly. They will allow you to build the content of your page by stacking a series of custom panels into the page and dragging and dropping them into your preferred order. You can learn more about standard feature panels here.
Dynamic and Standard feature panels are not mutually exclusive and can be used together to build your exhibition or artist page.
How to use dynamic panels
Steps
- Go to Records > Exhibitions > All exhibitions or Records > Artists and select the page you would like to edit.
- From your chosen record's edit screen, add the content to the record using the right content fields. For example, to add an overview text, use the overview field.
- Scroll to the bottom of the feature panel window and click on ‘create new panel’.
- From the Panel Type & Layout menu, click on ‘Dynamic’ to show the dynamic panels.
5. Select the module you would like to add to your page and click on 'Save and add to page'.
When enabling feature panels for your page, your feature panel section will pre-populate with a panel structure that can be edited and enabled directly from the content table.
Edit the grid layout of your dynamic panels
When using dynamic panels the grid layout of your modules can be directly edited from your website CMS's Settings. Your settings can be accessed through your CMS top navigation menu and going to Settings > Settings.
For dynamic exhibition panels:
- To edit the grid layout of your Works and Installation Shots panels, navigate to Settings > Settings > Exhibitions and use the settings under the 'Exhibition Works Grid' and 'Exhibition Installation Shots Grid' sections.
- The grid layout of your News, Events, Press and Publications panels can be directly edited from Settings > Settings > Other Records. Scroll down to find the sections 'News grid', 'Events grid', 'Press grid', and 'Publication grid' . Please note that modifying these settings will also update how these records appear on their respective dynamic pages.
- The layout of your Related Artists panel is set by default and cannot be directly edited from the settings.
For dynamic artist panels:
- To edit the layout of your Works and Installation Shots panels, navigate to Settings > Settings > Artists, and use the settings under the 'Artists Artworks Grid' and 'Artists Installation Shots Grid' sections.
- The grid layout of your Artist exhibition panels can be edited directly from Settings > Settings > Exhibitions, using the settings under the 'Exhibition Grid' section. Please note that modifying these settings will also update how these records appear on your exhibitions page - as happens with dynamic exhibition records, News, Events, Press, Blogs and Publications panels can be directly edited from Settings > Settings > Other Records.
