Create and edit feature panels dynamically from the front end of your website.
Introducing the Visual Feature Panel Editor
Our newly developed Panel Editor allows users to construct pages directly on the front end of their site. This improved user interface, whereby pages are customised and previewed simultaneously, will help to make creating exciting and engaging content effortless.
Getting started
Once we have enabled this feature for you, you can access it on any viewing room or page that supports feature panels. The following steps will show you how to begin using it.
Steps
- Log into your website CMS, find and edit the viewing room/page you wish to modify, click the Launch Visual Feature Panel Editor button on the edit screen. You can then begin creating and editing new feature panels from the front-end of the page by selecting '+Add feature panel'.
- Click the pencil button to add content/ edit your feature panels.
You will also be able to use the edit and delete buttons by hovering over the feature panel on the page.
Note: When you first add a feature panel placeholder content will be displayed until further content is added. Placeholder panels will not show up on live sites and will only display before content has been added.
Previewing your page
After adding a new panel and adding content, you will be able to view how this appears on the page immediately.
In addition, you can preview how this would look on additional views such as mobile and tablet by clicking the icons at the top of the page. You can also return to the edit screen by clicking the Back to Admin button.
Undoing changes and Saving
Remember to 'Save' your feature panels after making any updates to see these reflected in the Editor.
Clicking the Undo arrow in the bottom left corner will undo all unsaved changes made. This action is irreversible.
Editing all feature panels
If you have multiple feature panels on your edit screen, quickly jump to the panel you wish to edit by selecting it from the list. The page will then automatically scroll to the position of the selected feature panel.
Changing the feature panel order
To change the order of the panels simply drag and drop the panel/s to a new place in the list.
Hide a panel
To hide a panel from the page view (without having to delete it), turn on/ off the visibility of the panel.
Browse and edit your entire site through the Panel Editor
Once in the Visual Feature Panel Editor Mode, you can navigate through the rest of your website. The feature panel editor will update as you browse, reflecting the feature panels on each page or viewing room you visit.
If you visit a page in the Panel Editor Mode that does not support feature panels, the following will display in place of the existing panels.
