Learn how to navigate through and search for artworks within the new app
Once you have successfully logged in to the Artlogic app, you will be prompted with two separate collections: Artists and Artlogic Database Private Views. What each of these contains, as well as how you can search in these collections, is detailed below.
The artists that appear in this collection are determined by your Private Views synchronisation settings. If you need to make changes to this you can do so by going to Artworks > Private Views > iPad/iPhone synchronisation. You will also be able to customise the name of the collection from here should you wish.
Artlogic Database Private Views
This collection will populate with all of the Private View links that have been generated in the Artlogic database and shared to the app. You will find this setting on the edit screen of the Private View link.
Navigating an individual Private View
Once you click into an individual Private View you will be prompted with a list of all of the artworks within that Private View. If you click on an individual artwork you will see a detailed view of that artwork, which includes the following information:
- A larger view of the artwork image
- Additional artwork images.
Please keep in mind that you will need to have the applicable setting enabled in the artwork record on the database for additional images to appear. You can read more about this here.
- All of the core artworks details
- A 'More Info' button will provide you with any additional information you have opted to share from the iPad/iPhone synchronisation settings. These options include the following:
Searching in the App
On the top right corner of the app, you will see a magnifying glass that will allow you to search within the app.
You will be able to search the following:
- Presentation titles
- Artwork titles
- Artist name
- Stock numbers
- Document file names
Advanced Search in the App
When you click on the magnifying glass you will also see a new option for 'Advanced' searches. With this tool you will have the option to filter for specific artworks based on certain search parameters.
The search parameters include the following:
- Artwork type
- Edition type
You will be able to include as many search parameters as you would like. Once you are happy with the selection simply select 'Show Results', and you will see a list of artworks based on your applied search.
If you want to start a new search, all you will need to do is return to the 'Advanced' search screen, and select 'Reset' on the top left corner. This will clear the page and allow you to start a new search.
