This guide explains how to display your Viewing Room on the same web domain as your main website.
Free domain
We provide you with a free domain that is live and ready to share when we deliver your Online Viewing Room. It will look something like youraccountid.viewingrooms.com and you are free to use, share and link to this URL.
Use your existing website
If you would prefer to display the viewing room on your existing web domain (for example, mygallery.com) alongside your existing website, you will need to create a subdomain such as viewingroom.mygallery.com. Your domain provider will usually allow you to do this with no extra cost, as you already own the domain.
Just let us know if you wish to use a custom subdomain, so we can configure your Viewing Room correctly. You will then need to follow the instructions below. Artlogic does not do this setup for you and we recommend getting an IT professional who is confident editing DNS to do this for you.
Info: You should not need to purchase a new web domain if you already own one that you wish to use.
How to connect your custom subdomain
Here are some examples of subdomains that you may choose:
- viewingroom.mygallery.com
- viewingrooms.gallery.co.uk
- vip.gallery.com
When you login to your Viewing Room CMS this subdomain will appear in the Connect Domains section of the Website Launch Guide. To view these instructions go to Settings > Website Launch Guide.
The screen (below) will give you all of the instructions to add the subdomain record to your DNS control panel. We recommend getting an IT professional or your domain provider to help you set up your subdomain. We provide email templates that you can send to them. Click Connect > Help to find these.
