Use website pop-ups to promote events, exhibitions, art fairs, and announcements directly on your website. A pop-up appears automatically when a visitor loads a page, giving you a flexible way to highlight timely content.
Website pop-ups are available on Expert tier websites.
Creating a pop-up
Navigate to Records > Popups and click New Record to create a pop-up record.
Setting up your pop-up
Content
Add a Title, and optionally a Subtitle and body Content to describe what you want to promote. You can use the content editor to format your text.
Use the optional Dates fields to control when the pop-up is visible on your website. Setting a start date schedules the pop-up to appear from that date. Setting an end date means the pop-up will stop showing after that point. If no dates are set, the pop-up will show as long as it is enabled. This works in the same way as the date ranges used for exhibitions across the system.
Images
Upload a Main image to display alongside your content. You can also upload an Overlay background image, which will appear behind the pop-up box across the page.
Note: The Disable Overlay Background toggle is not compatible with an overlay background image. If a background image is added this setting will have no effect.
Button
Add a Link URL and Link Label to include a call-to-action button in your pop-up, for example linking visitors to an exhibition page or an art fair map.
Pop-up layout
Choose how your content is presented using the Layout, Layout Variant, Layout Width, Popup position, and Text alignment options.
| Setting | Options |
| Layout | Text Only / Image & Text adjacent / Image & Text full width |
| Layout Variant | Image left aligned / Image centre aligned / Image right aligned |
| Layout Width | 25% / 50% / 75% / 100% |
| Popup position | Top left / Top center / Top right / Center left / Center / Center right / Bottom left / Bottom center / Bottom right |
| Text alignment | Left / Centre / Right |
Popup placement
Use the Popup placement section to control which pages of your website the pop-up appears on.
Toggle Show on all pages on to display the pop-up across your entire website. If you want the pop-up to appear only on specific pages, leave this toggle off and use Pages to appear to add the relevant records. You can select from Pages, Exhibitions, Artists, News, Publications, Events, Fairs, Viewing Rooms, and Video.
You can add multiple pages and use the checkbox next to each entry to enable or disable it individually without removing it from the list.
Styling
Use the Styling section to customise the appearance of the pop-up to match your website's design. Enter hex codes for the Background colour and Text colour.
Visibility and previewing
Use the Visibility panel on the right-hand side to enable or disable the pop-up on your website using the Enabled on website toggle. When enabled and published the pop-up will display automatically when a visitor loads the page.
To preview your pop-up before it goes live, click Preview. If the pop-up is set to show on specific pages, you can select which page to preview it on from the dropdown next to the Preview button. If the pop-up is set to show on all pages, the preview will default to the homepage.
Note: You need to save your record to update the preview list.
