When making an invoice, you may want to add a work to it using the add artwork button a the bottom of the invoice edit screen. Sometimes, an artwork may not appear when searched for due to artwork and invoice tax statuses. This guide will show you how to check that the artwork and invoice tax statuses are set correctly.
Troubleshooting: checking the tax status settings of the artwork and invoice records
If you find that your artwork is not appearing in the search results, it may be to do with the Margin Scheme tax status. For legal reasons, only Margin Scheme works can be added to Margin Scheme invoices, and Margin Scheme works cannot be added to non-Margin Scheme invoices.
You will need to check the tax status of both the artwork record and the invoice:
Check the artwork record
The tax status of an artwork is located in Artwork record > Financial tab > Retail Price & Tax. Click on the drop-down to change the tax status if required.
Check the invoice settings
You'll also need to make sure the tax status of the invoice aligns with the tax status of the artwork. Click Settings at the bottom right of the Invoice edit screen. Click the radio buttons to change the tax status as required.
