You may wish to add third-party code to include additional functionality, embed audio and video, or to adjust the styles of your website.
What kind of custom code can I add to my site?
There are certain reasons you may add or ask us to add in code supplied by a third party. This can be a great way to include additional functionality, content and styles that are not built directly into or hosted on your site. Examples include:
- Adding tracking tags
- Adding in third party software to provide functionality (booking software, chatbots, etc.)
- Embedding video and audio files
- Editing CSS styles
Code must be supplied from a reputable source and must work with our sites 'out of the box'. Most code will work as soon as it's added, without any issue, but please note any code that breaks your site will be removed to ensure your site continues to function well.
Why we do not allow all third-party code
Our proprietary codebase powers hundreds of websites, so we need to ensure that the features we supply suit the needs of all clients on the platform. This also means that it would be incredibly difficult for a third-party developer to add code without having access to our codebase (which we do not allow).
Feature requests
We are always keen to hear how you think we could continue to add to and develop our sites. If you would like to submit a feature request, see this FAQ.
