This guide explains how to add and manage your artists into categories using your website CMS .
Steps
Follow this multi-step process to enable artist categories.
-
In your website CMS, go to Settings > General > enable the Artist categories module.
-
Then, go to Settings > Artists > Artist list layout > select 'Grid of images and names divided by Artist categories'.
-
Also in Settings > Artists > enable 'Filter by artist categories on list' and disable 'Split Artist list by gallery and exhibited Artists'.
-
Next, go to your Records > Artist categories and click 'New record' to add categories.
If 'Artist categories' is not appearing in your Records list, refresh and clear your browser's cache, making sure you are using a fully up to date browser (we recommend using Google Chrome). -
Then, go to Records > Artists > edit artists > tick the category. Don't forget to Save your record before moving to the next artist.
The artist categories will now appear on your website's 'Artists' page.
Sorting the order of your Artist Categories
In your website CMS, go to Records > Artist Categories. Then, using the drag and drop feature, reorder your categories to your preference.
Select 'Main category (always show as the first section on the artist's page)' in an individual category's edit screen to remove the 'All' option on your Artist page and default the visitor to the selected category, i.e. when 'Artists' is selected the visitor will be taken to a page showing all the 'Contemporary' artists on your website.
Artists in an Artist Category
Currently, it's not possible to custom order the artists as they appear within the category.
