Mailing setup instructions
To optimise the deliverability of your emails (like artwork offers) sent from your Artlogic database correct mailing setup is advised. We recommend an IT specialist assists you with configuring your CNAME and SPF settings. If you do not have an IT specialist, see how we can help.
This is necessary for Sales Pipeline users.
Overview
Your IT specialist will need to create some Canonical Name (CNAME) records and create or adjust a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) file inside your DNS settings (DNS is routing information for your domain name - e.g. gallerydomainname.com, gallerydomainname.co.uk, gallerydomainname.fr etc).
Why is this necessary?
All emails sent from within Artlogic are processed and delivered by Sendgrid, our third party mailing provider. As mailing clients, like Outlook and Gmail, can be sensitive to emails sent from mass mailing providers, we strongly recommend following the instructions outlined in this guide to maximise their deliverability by adding an extra layer of authentication.

Get started
The below needs to be set up in the DNS settings of the domain from which your emails are sent from e.g. gallerydomainname.com. Please share this guide with your IT specialist.
White-labelling
White-labelling helps ensure that the emails that you send through the mass mailing system in Artlogic appear as though they are coming directly from your domain and are authenticated correctly.
The following need to be set-up as individual CNAME record in your DNS settings, replacing “[domain]” with your organisation's domain e.g. gallerydomainname.com:
send.[domain] -> u12006358.wl109.sendgrid.net
dk._domainkey.[domain] -> dk.domainkey.u12006358.wl109.sendgrid.net
dk2._domainkey.[domain] -> dk2.domainkey.u12006358.wl109.sendgrid.net
link.[domain] -> sendgrid.net
12006358.[domain] -> sendgrid.net
Technical notes: The first three CNAME records validate the domain and setup DKIM, while the latter two make sure that tracked links in the email appear as if they are hosted on the domain the email is being sent from, increasing the legitimacy of the email in the eyes of the recipient servers.
Important: Once these records are set up, Artlogic has to be notified for the settings to get confirmed on our end.
Common setup issue
When adding the CNAME records to your DNS settings ensure that appending your domain (e.g. gallerydomainname.com/ gallerydomainname.co.uk/ gallerydomainname.fr) is actually required as some hosts (like GoDaddy and Google) will add it for you.
To do this, inspect the other records that have already been added in your DNS settings - if they end with your domain then it is necessary to include your domain in the new CNAME records.
If the other records do not end with your domain, please leave it out and use:
send -> u12006358.wl109.sendgrid.net
dk._domainkey -> dk.domainkey.u12006358.wl109.sendgrid.net
dk2._domainkey -> dk2.domainkey.u12006358.wl109.sendgrid.net
link -> sendgrid.net
12006358 -> sendgrid.net
SPF settings
Please read the following help notes on how to specifically adapt or setup your SPF records. It is crucial that SPF is set up correctly for your domain.
View this guide to setup your SPF settings.
I don't have an IT specialist
If you cannot proceed by yourself editing your DNS settings and do not have an IT Specialist to assist you, we can attempt to complete the set up of the White-labelling and SPF records on your behalf for a fee of GBP150 and on the condition that you supply access to your DNS or contact details for the person or company responsible.
In most cases, we will be able to successfully access and edit your DNS but we cannot guarantee this.
In some rare instances where the DNS setup is more complex or inaccessible to us, we may need to charge further fees or we may not be able to complete the changes on your behalf.
If you would like to proceed, please contact us at support@artlogic.net.
