Cannot connect/ Timeout /No response from our server
This article explains why you might be having trouble connecting to the Artlogic server.
Reasons why you may have issues connecting
Outdated Bookmarks
Using an outdated bookmark or connecting to the wrong address is the number one reason people can't connect.
Tip: Make sure to keep your bookmarks up to date.
Wifi
If you believe it might be your wifi that is causing the problem, try turning off wifi on your phone and connect to the system using cellular data. Assuming this works, you can be reassured that the service and our servers are operating as expected.
Furthermore, as the server is working on your phone, the problem is likely to be somewhere local to your computer or network and you may need to contact a specialist to help.
Is your computer working properly?
There might be a number of reasons why your computer is not functioning as it should. These may include:
- Memory issues
- Hard drive full
- Networking card issues
Browser problems
If you believe it is the browser causing problems, the simplest thing to do is to try using a different browser to see if you get the same result.
Make sure the browser you are using is up to date. If you are uncertain whether your browser is the newest version, complete supportdetails.com and send us the results to support@artlogic.net so we can see what browser and version you are using. If the browser is not up to date, updating it or reinstalling could help.
Sometimes, browser extensions can cause problems. If you suspect this might be causing you not to connect to the server, disable them all to see if it helps.
You could also make sure that pop-ups are enabled for our domains.
DNS settings
On a Mac, open Terminal (go to /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) and type 'host app.artlogic.net', which should return an IP address. If it does not, there is a problem with your DNS.
Local router, WiFi issues or network flapping.
If you can load a file from Vimeo and play a video at the same time, but you can't connect to our system, there is a different problem. Your network speed/ connectivity may be too slow.
Internet problem between your ISP and the location of our servers
If you can load parts of Artlogic but other sections are struggling to load, please let us know by sending us the URL with screenshots to support@artlogic.net.
Proxies
Because you are connecting to live data and using sessions, a proxy on your local network or at your ISP could cause problems.
If none of these reasons apply and you are still having trouble connecting to our servers or if you would like more advice on any of the issues above, get in touch with us at support@artlogic.net. Please make sure to supply screenshots of any errors messages you are getting which will help us to diagnose what is happening more quickly.
