ArtBase: FileMaker Pro Update

This document outlines the process for evaluating the version of FileMaker Pro currently installed on your computer and installing a new compatible version of FileMaker if necessary.

Please Note: If ArtBase is hosted on-premises by your organization, please connect with your IT regarding the version of FileMaker Server hosting the database files. The version of FileMaker Server hosting ArtBase also impacts FileMaker Pro compatibility. 

The versions of FileMaker Pro listed in this article are compatible with ArtBase versions 10, 11, and 12. 

Operating system version

FileMaker Pro is compatible with Apple Macs and Windows PCs. The version of FileMaker compatible with your operating system will vary. Please use the links below from Apple and Microsoft to view instructions for locating the version of the operating system currently installed on your computer.

Review FileMaker (if installed)

Please use the steps below to review the version of FileMaker Pro currently installed on your computer to help assess if an upgrade is needed. 

  1. Open FileMaker Pro; don’t open ArtBase just yet.
  2. In the top toolbar menu, select FileMaker Pro(macOS) or Help (Windows).
  3. Choose the About FileMaker Pro option from the dropdown list.
  4. The About FileMaker Pro window will open. The About window will display the version of FileMaker Pro and the operating system version of your computer.  

Install a compatible version of FileMaker Pro 

Please note your operating system type and version to determine the compatible version of FileMaker Pro to download.
 

FileMaker Pro 2026 (version 26)

FileMaker Pro 2025 (version 22)

FileMaker Pro 2024 (version 21)
